Golf Cart Rear Seat Kit Guide: Fitment, Roof Supports & Colors

A rear seat kit is a major change to your golf cart, and choosing the cushion color is only part of the decision. The frame must match your cart, the roof supports must suit the installation, and the accessories must fit that seat kit. Start with those details before comparing photos or prices.

Complete seat kit, cushion set, or armrest bundle?

A cushion set replaces upholstery; it does not supply the frame needed to add a rear seat. A frame-only listing also needs compatible cushions. A complete rear flip-seat kit combines the model-specific frame and cushions, with its listed hardware and accessories. Our rear seat bundles pair a complete SGC NOMAD seat kit with a pair of SGC armrests with cup holders. Check the bundle contents rather than assuming every accessory shown elsewhere is included.

Match the frame to your cart

Cart What to check
Club Car DS Our early DS bundle uses the 1982–2000.5 frame; the later DS bundle uses the 2000.5–2013 frame. A 2000 cart needs a production-style check.
Precedent, Tempo and Onward The SFPR09-based bundle retains OEM rear roof supports and the sweater basket. The SFPR10-based version includes replacement supports, does not retain that basket, and is for Precedent/Tempo—not Onward.
EZGO TXT and RXV Choose the named platform. The TXT-family seat kit is not the RXV seat kit. For Valor, confirm the chassis: our TXT-family listing specifically excludes RXV-based Valor.
Yamaha G29/Drive and Drive2 These use separate NOMAD frames. Select G29/Drive or Drive2 explicitly.

Choose cushion and armrest colors separately

Our NOMAD bundles include options beyond black: tan, buff, white, pure white, stone, sandstone, ivory, dove gray, and brown. Read the entire title. Dove gray, brown, ivory, and sandstone seat bundles use black armrests; those combinations are labeled “Seat / Black Armrests.” A similar color name is not a promise that it will match older, sun-faded upholstery.

Check the cart before installation

  • Confirm the model and production year from the cart’s identification information.
  • Photograph the rear roof supports, mounting area, and any existing aftermarket seat frame.
  • Read which grab bar, hitch, supports, and hardware are included in the exact kit.
  • Check the cart manufacturer’s passenger and load limits. Adding a seat does not increase the cart’s rated capacity.
  • Use the kit’s installation instructions and obtain qualified installation help when needed.

Common questions

Will armrests fit any rear seat?

Not automatically. The armrests in these bundles mount to the NOMAD kit’s square-tube handrails. Confirm the mounting method before buying armrests for another frame.

Can I shop by color first?

Choose the correct cart fitment first, then compare its available colors. That keeps a great-looking seat from becoming the wrong installation.
