Alltrax DC Controller & D&D Motor Fitment Guide
Start with your cart's electrical system—not just its year or badge. An Alltrax XCT upgrade keeps a compatible separately excited DC motor system. An SR upgrade is for a compatible series DC system. Neither controller turns a DC cart into an AC cart.

1. Identify the controller family
| Existing system | Alltrax 400A / 500A family | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Club Car IQ / Precedent IQ / i2 Excel | XCT48400IQ / XCT48500IQ | Original controller, throttle configuration and motor number. Do not confuse with Regen II or a factory AC system. |
| Club Car Regen II / PowerDrive Plus | XCT48400-PD+ / XCT48500-PD+ | Regen II / PDPlus electronics and the matching original-controller connector. Not Regen I or IQ. |
| E-Z-GO DCS | XCT48400DCS / XCT48500DCS | DCS electronics, normally the 9-pin application. Not PDS, TXT48 or series. |
| E-Z-GO PDS | XCT48400PDS / XCT48500PDS | PDS controller and connectors. A TXT body does not establish PDS fitment. |
| E-Z-GO factory TXT48 DC | XCT48400TXT48 / XCT48500TXT48 | Factory 48V DC system and matching 16-pin configuration. Not RXV AC or an assumed ELiTE replacement. |
| Yamaha G19 / G22 electric DC | XCT48400G19/22 / XCT48500G19/22 | Identify the original GE versus MORIC configuration before ordering. |
| Yamaha G29 / Drive YDRE DC | XCT48400YDRE / XCT48500YDRE | YDRE DC drive system. Not gas or factory-AC Drive2. |
| Compatible series DC cart | SR48400 / SR48500 / SR48600; SR72400 / SR72500 for approved higher-voltage systems | Series motor, throttle, mounting, wiring and full-charge battery voltage. Not an XCT/separately excited or AC application. |
Year is a screening aid, not final proof. Electronics, battery trays and motors may have been replaced. Photograph the controller label and connectors, motor label, battery arrangement and throttle equipment.
2. Match the motor—not just the splines
For an XCT installation, the controller's motor-specific field map must match the exact D&D motor. Do not assume a controller supplied for a stock motor is already programmed for the replacement. Confirm the motor's mounting face, shaft interface, case clearance, speed-sensor arrangement and intended operating voltage.
Useful D&D families in our catalog include Club Car regen motors 170-504-0002, 170-516-0001, 170-506-0002 and 170-502-0002; Club Car series motors 170-003-0002 and 170-004-0002A; E-Z-GO series motors 170-006-0001 and 170-010-0002; and the application-specific E-Z-GO/Yamaha regen choices 170-506-0001, 170-502-0001 and 170-516-0003. The individual product's application notes remain controlling; these are not interchangeable universal motors.
3. Choose wiring for the workload
Use our wire-kit guide before combining a controller with a 4 AWG kit. Alltrax distinguishes standard duty from heavy duty. A 500A controller is not an automatic match for the D&D 4 AWG kits, and a 400A setup used for hills, towing or heavy loads may also require larger cables.
4. Check the rest of the system
Confirm the battery/BMS current capability, fully charged voltage, regenerative-charge limits, main fuse, contactor coil and contact ratings, mounting adapter, throttle and controller programming. An amp rating in a product title is not necessarily a continuous-current rating.
36V to 48V or 72V is a system conversion. A controller alone does not approve the motor, charger, accessories or contactor for the new voltage. Obtain manufacturer approval for a non-stock application, including applicable warranty terms.
