Club Car Precedent DC upgrade with the four-12V cable layout
Combine an Alltrax XCT 400A-class IQ controller, D&D regen motor, dedicated four-12V-battery cable kit and 48V-coil MZJ contactor. This is a DC parts package, not an AC conversion or a universal plug-and-play kit.

Fitment checklist
For a compatible 48V electric Precedent IQ-family DC system with four 12V batteries and a matching 10-tooth motor interface. This is not the six-8V cable kit. Verify the existing controller and throttle; IQ and i2/Excel configurations require the correct setup even when the connector looks alike. Not for series, Regen I/II, gas or factory-AC carts.
Plan the installation
The XCT must use the correct field map and limits for D&D 170-516-0001. Programming and installation labor are not included. Alltrax's 4 AWG minimum applies to standard-duty 400A setups; heavy-duty 400A operation requires at least 2 AWG. Review hills, towing, heavy passenger loads, tire size and motor duty before choosing the package. The controller's advertised amp class is not its continuous rating.
Match the MZJ's 48V coil to the control circuit, and separately check contact duty, terminal openings, mounting and the published 60V DC switched-circuit limit—including full-charge and regeneration voltage. Cable terminals or additional leads may need adaptation. Verify battery/BMS ratings, motor clearance and speed-sensor connections. A lithium tray conversion can require different wiring.
Additional installation items may be required: main fuse and holder, suppression diode, mounting adapter and signal harnesses. These are not included unless an individual component expressly lists them. Follow the exact controller diagram; obtain D&D approval for the non-stock motor application and warranty coverage.
